In the fly-by-night world which too
often con sumes the residential window and door business, Northern Comfort
Windows and Doors are a pillar of the industry, taking professionalism within
Barrie and surrounding area the extra mile.
Heeding the finest details of the job from to quality control,
commitment, a dedication to the industry and a knowledgeable and certified
staff, Ernest Ebner and the Northern Comfort team have forged a sound name when
it comes to meeting residential needs. From consultations of their
industry-leading product line to complete installation, Northern Comfort staff
is completely capable of handling any needs, Ebner explains.
“We take care of the residential needs and we try to maintain good
service to the customer,” says Ebner, a 35-year veteran of the window and door
business. “Here at Northern Comfort, we have our own service department, which
takes care of the jobs as quick as possible and we always give the customer good
quality work.”
Located at 20 Bell Farm Rd. in Barrie since opening operations in
1996, administrative assistant Dyana Dalley says along with their penchant for
high quality installation and service, they also hang their reputation on the
quality of what they sell. Dealing with only the best in the business, Dalley
says Northern Comfort’s line of high performance vinyl windows, steel entrance
door systems and sliding/soffit Florida rooms, live up to their stringent
requirements.
With suppliers such as Tru Tech Door Systems, Doorplex, Vinylbilt
Windows, Sunview Patio Doors, York Aluminum, Proview Sunroom and Lifestyles
Sunrooms, Northern Comfort has the names to back up any job. “Here at Northern
Comfort we sell and install replacement doors and windows and we only sell
quality,” says Dalley of the Window Wise certified dealer and installer. “Being
associated with Window Wise, customers know our products are CSA approved and
that the installers are certified to do it. It’s good peace of mind for the
customers.”
Enlisted with the Window Wise program since 2000, the association
reinforces the dedication Northern Comfort takes towards the job. Designed to
give homeowners a quality assurance program of their investment, the Window Wise
National Program certificate ensures lasting quality for each of Northern
Comfort’s undertakings. Boasting a team of 15 certified Window Wise installers,
Dalley says this ensures champion quality and correct installation.

“There’s a lot of companies out there who subcontract and use
windows that aren’t tested, let alone certified and that’s something we don’t
do,” she says. “We provide good service, good product and good installation.”
A veteran Northern Comfort installer, Dave Hemke explains the
Window Wise Certification program is a great security blanket for the customer,
no matter how competent a company looks. “Because we are Window Wise installers,
our windows have to be installed to a specific criteria which means we’re
different from the companies that just slam a window in,” says Hemke.
“Our windows have to be foamed correctly, shimmed correctly and
everything so that the window is properly supported.” Echoing the importance of
maintaining a solid name, Vice-president Gabby Ebner says staying on top of the
key points of the industry is what sets Northern Comfort apart.
“We have vast product knowledge,” she explains as the Window Wise
program continually educates and certifies the Northern Comfort installation
crew. “From the way we install to our service, our products are of the highest
quality.”
For the long-time window man himself, Ebner however says it’s the
same old answer to the question of staying ahead in any business. Quality work
and a dedication to the industry and more so the customer.
“There is a lot of people in the industry that really don’t
have any clue or know anything about it and that’s what made me get into the
business myself,” explains Ebner. “Here at Northern Comfort we have good
suppliers who are well established and the customer can count on their quality
and service. Because of that, we can give the customer what we promise – the
best replacement windows and doors and the best service as well.”
