Before you buy checklist

  1. How long is the warranty? Is it transferable? Is it non – prorated?

  2. Does the company have WSIB insurance to protect you from any liabilities?

  3. Check out the company’s reputation. The company should have a solid
    reputation, financially in good standing have a list of many satisfied customers?
  1. Does the company meet or exceed building code standards to ensure warranties are in effect?
  1. Are their windows CSA certified?
  1. Energy Star, are their windows Energy Star qualified? Energy efficient windows must meet certain criteria in order to pass.
  1. When comparing quotes, make sure that you are comparing apples to apples. Things like warranties, installation guarantees, certified windows vs. regular windows, etc.
  1. After sale service: Does the company have a service department so they are able to send someone out quickly should you have a problem with your windows or door?
  1. Are they member of any major associations like Window Wise, Better Business Bureau, Sawdac or the Chamber of Commerce?
